Lidkoping Easter Party 2005
We arrived at Lidkoping and were taken into the main hall where all the preparations for the Easter Party had been made, we weren’t quite sure what to expect, but we were soon put at our ease by the friendly welcome we received. We had all been allocated our tables which were hosted by the Corps folk most of which would be our billets as well, so it was a good introduction to our billeting hosts.
The Lidkoping band played for us at the beginning of the evening along with a slide presentation about the Corps and its activities. The band played very well and were duly applauded with a few whoops! And yippee’s! The evening continued with a dance presentation by some of the young ladies from the corps and this was extremely good and well received. They finished their routine with a little song to Bo and presented him with a red rose each because the following week was his 50th birthday, but more of that later.
The evening continued with a game of charades which was a team from Lidkoping and a team from Derby Central Songsters. The result was a very diplomatic draw. But great fun was had by all. The songsters then ‘did their bit’ by singing a few numbers. Finally the girls sang for us and the evening gradually wound up and we went of to our billets for the night, but a great time was had by all and we felt part of the Lidkoping fellowship.
